Custom Compute
We operate FPGA-accelerated server clusters tailor-made for cryptographic computation at scale.
Our custom FPGA modules accelerate Number Theoretic Transforms and Merkle Trees with Poseidon Hashing.
Server Specifications
Six FPGAs, powerful CPU
Our compute nodes are Lenovo ThinkSystem SR655 servers, each packed with six AMD/Xilinx U55C FPGA boards.
Baseline Server Features
AMD EPYC™ 7313P processors with 16 cores @ 3.0 GHz
512 GB TruDDR4 3200 MHz memory
96 lanes of PCIe 4.0, six slots
FPGA Board Features
AMD/Xilinx VU47P FPGA
Dual PCIe 4.0 x8 interfaces
16 GB High Bandwidth Memory (HBM)
Our servers consume 200W when idle and reach 1250W when all six FPGAs are running. We typically consume less than 1kW of power and have a redundant 1600W PSUs.
Bare Metal Infrastructure
Irreducible operates our own bare-metal infrastructure, which has several benefits over public cloud computing.
PCIe 4.0
We use the advanced PCIe 4.0 standard to improve data transfers rates, whereas the AWS FPGA-accelerated F1 instances only support PCIe 3.0.
Decentralization
Operating outside of public cloud infrastructure providers like Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform brings necessary redundancy to the decentralized networks we support.
Climate-friendly
Irreducible is committed to powering our operations with sustainable and low-cost energy sources.
